Not a very common model. If you really like it, $400 doesn't seem too bad. I'd still try to talk the seller down to 350

Umm, that's a tough one to price. If you look at the guitar it's self, It's a RG350 I believe, which would mean, based on that merit alone it'll be worth 150-200ish new. On the other hand it is a Gieger model, that they made very few of which would make it worth more than that. I wouldn't buy it for that, but some one might. The Gieger worth the most right now is the Iceman, and I believe they can go for 600ish, but not sure on that.

Do you guys think that this guitar would be better than a rg550 from say a collection standpoint

no, The 500's are the Holy Grail of Ibanez. I doubt it will ever be that Good. If you can get it cheaper than 400 go for it. just know to really play it you're going to have to change the trem and possibly the pickups.

I'm a fan of the original Alien movie but I would never get that guitar. From an Ibanez collectors standpoint they are not made in Japan so it would hold little value.

The 500 series is highly sought after, but "Holy Grail" of Ibanez???
I'd think some of the earliest Jems, the DNA, and a few early swirls have the 500 series beat by a long shot. Back to the OP--it's all what you're willing to pay for something. 350? Yes, but the Geiger finish puts it a few notches up. Still think 400 isn't bad, but I'd try for 350 just to see...
