Got my 2570 yesterday!

A bonus to our father's day festivities, the family went for a ride to Toledo, Ohio to pick up my new guitar:

You can't see it in the picture, but this one has the color matched headstock too. Very nice guitar, needs a good setup and I need to get accustomed to changing the strings on these new bridges. I got the wrong trem arm, which I didn't figure out until I got home, 128 miles later. I guess the old Edge/Lo-Pro Edge arms fit the Edge Pro?!

The trem arm are the same as the Edge/lo pro and congratz on the new guitar.

Very nice..... sounds like a good "fathers day" for you! You can get replacment arms for like $16.00 to $18.00. Same as Edge/Low Pro. Rich carries them or look around on the Evilbay.

Re: Got my 2570 yesterday!

If it has matching headstock that means it is an 03 model.

Re: Got my 2570 yesterday!

Hey Kirk did you get that guitar at Peeler Music? Because if you did I have played that exact one for about an hour or so. So you can say that another Jemsiter has had his hands on your baby before you.

Re: Got my 2570 yesterday!

Yup, got it at Peeler. Got my Peeler Music bumper sticker plastered on my acoustic (it's a POS, but fun to play!) They have a nice selection there too.

Not crazy about the pickups, but I'm on a tight budget right now, so they'll have to do for now. These necks are so sweetly finished though, gotta love that.

DV8 what did you think of it - besides needing a setup?

For some reason I like just looking at it.

Re: Got my 2570 yesterday!

I thought it was beautiful, and yeah it needed a setup bad. I was comparing it to my 1570 and I did like the binding on the neck and I thought that the textured finish was pretty cool. I just cringe though when I go into peeler and they had yours and a number of other top ibanez's like the jem shoved in so tight that they bang other guitars trying to pull them out or put them away. I hope you love it though, because I was almost thinking about putting that one on hold, but you beat me to it....LOL.

Re: Got my 2570 yesterday!

Speaking to one of the employees, they said that the original store was only as big as the room with the guitars in it and no big name manufacturers would give them the time of day at the NAMM booths. Now there's barely any space, as you said. I don't know how much business they do there, but I like the place anyhow.

Another note about this guitar - I typically do not care for the sharfin inlays, but the smoked mirror inlays on the rosewood fretboard look subtle & sweet.

Re: Got my 2570 yesterday!

Yeah, congrats dude. The 2570EX is one of the only Ibanez RG's I've liked in the last few years. I can't believe they have given this guitar a non-matched headstock now! Shame on you, Ibanez!
