Great ishibashi deal!!!

http://1484.bz/machida/select.cgi?id=17040

That price equates to just $1600 after shipping, great deal on a great guitar. The machida shop usually has good prices, my J custom was just a little bit cheaper than this, like $1550. I'm not affiliated with ishbashi or anything, I was just looking for an edwards and came across this. Be nice if this went to a forum member and not some random japanese guy

Re: Great ishibashi deal!!!

you can even get 8470 with that price JPY 183,750. Unfortunately japanese guys always enjoy more discounted prices than we do.

And unfortunately those cheap J-customs are getting snapped up fast! Can't complain though, I've managed to snag a few cheap J-c's from Itchy & Scratchy in the past

Re: Great ishibashi deal!!!

I live just down the road (5 minutes) from that very store and i am sorely tempted to go and check that out this afternoon. Nice find!

The reason it is so cheap i suspect is because they seem to need the wall space for other brands. Their Ibanez section at the machida store has shrunk to one fifth its previous area in a matter of months, they have a few J-customs on the wall at the mo and a couple of the low end RG's and that is pretty much that.

Question Re: Great ishibashi deal!!!

What does the little red box with writing in next to the reduced prices on Ishibashi's site mean ? Does it mean 'sale price' or 'ex demo' or something ?? They have some 8470's reduced too. Ikebe have a similar colour code, I've always assumed green was new, orange was ex demo/vgc and red meant secondhand ?
Anybody know for sure ?

Well, to be exact, it is more like $1,550 gross, then add to that shipping and handling which would probably be like $120-150. Then, if you're not in a lucky day, pay import duties, which in US may add on another $150 or so.

Total more like $1,850. Still, not bad.

Gus.

Uh, without sales tax the price is 174,562.5 yen

174,562.5 yen+ 16,000 shipping= 190,562.5 yen= 1,595.673 USD

Where are you getting $1850? BTW, I didn't have to pay duties on my guitar.

Simple, 1+1=2 => 1,550 + 150 + 150 = 1,850.

Not sure about Ishibashi, but Kurosawa tells you their price is X, and when you inquire about taxes, they say X excludes taxes, but includes handling fees... you know the drill, don't you.

That was your lucky day, believe me. Hope there are no import officers readying this site or you may get in trouble... Electric guitars from Japan pay 8.7% import duties. You can check it out at the Customs and Border Protection web site.

Re: Great ishibashi deal!!!

They don't care about low value items. But a $1,800 guitar, they may probably care about. Or they may not, as I said, it could be your lucky day.

In theory, any new item import ought to pay import duties.
