Grover 406c-6 in-line Mini Rotomatic on a Mikro

My inlaws - with my help - bought my 9 year old son a new Mikro for Christmas.

While we were at the guitar shop I plugged it into a Mesa Recto Verb 25 and noodled a bit. It wouldn't stay in tune - as I expected. The guy at the shop suggested we swap to 10s which we agreed to. So we went and had lunch while he went down stairs to have the tech on hand do it and returned about 30 minutes later.

Tuning was better but still not great. I suspect I'll have to replace the stock tuners with something else. While searching I came across an Amazon review that said the Grover 406c-6 in-line Mini Rotomatic's are a direct drop in replacement with no modification necessary for a Mikro.

Just wondered if someone here can confirm this is the case? I suppose the guy knows what he's talking about but I'd prefer confirmation from someone here before I drop $55 on a set only to find out I have to mess around drilling etc.

Thanks!

I bought my daughter a Mikro, and it actually holds pretty good tuning with 9s. I've heard of some having trouble with it, maybe hers is a fluke? lol

Just in case anyone is wondering - I changed out the stock tuners on my boy's new Mikro and it made a big difference. Tuning is much more stable now and they were a direct drop in replacement with no modifications at all.
