Re: Guitar Guru Swirl #4

The top left portion looks cool but this paint job does not have much swirl to it. It looks cool and I would call it a lava paint job, but it doesn't really look like a swirl to me.

To be honest, your swirls look way too messy to me.

Re: Guitar Guru Swirl #4

He did this one for me and yes, I agree it doesn't look like a conventional swirl but that lava look he got looks really cool so I'm happy with the result.

customer > critics :-)

one thing i'd STRONGLY urge for Guitar Guru is better photography so that you show-off the work. That includes tweaking white balance and photoshop tweaks (try lightroom) to boost curves, increase contrast, etc... glen

Y'know I don't think it looks messy as much as maybe the color choice was a bit too close, so that it appears that way. Kind of hard to swirl colors so close in shade. It's definitely got it's own vibe working, and the fact that it doesn't look like some other swirls, color wise is what appeals to me...

I wish I knew to do that too... I set my digital camera on 'auto'. i dont know how to make good pics.

about the swirl... they are still a bit chaotic to me. and as deadtunes666 says, color choice was a bit too close... may be better a more contrast between colors.

cheers!

When I think of it more as Lava....it works. Interesting!

All I wanted on this one was black and red and a little white. The body I'm getting from Nate Perle will be a more "classic" swirl so I'm happy with the contrast between the two paint jobs.

Re: Guitar Guru Swirl #4

Loving the upper left color and the orange and black. Not liking the white. A bit splotchy on those parts.

Overall it looks like the atmosphere of jupiter (like a very long ago swirl here). I'd give it another go.

mini photography advice could be to NOT have a bright light behind the subject. Take the picture over the body, but at an angle (not too severe). Try with and without flash. Just don't let extra light flash into the camera.

Yes I think it's the picture. I have a good camera. I'll try it again.

You're not quite there yet. It needs to look cleaner. At least that's my opinion.
