A guitar I made....

Found this guitar today in my dads closet after 20 years! It has about an inch of dust on it!

I hand made this Peavey Destiny in 93-94 when I was working at Peavey R&D guitar division. I built it from solid mahogany, and it weighs a ton! The Puzzle was only for the Vandenberg custom. (a later version of the graphics shown below)

This is the only Destiny to come from Peavey with the puzzle graphics (and the only one that had the headstock done).

In the pic the puzzle looks yellowish, its because it sat in the sun for a few years, but doesnt look so yellow in person.

I used inlays from several different peavey guitars. I cant remember what the 3d blocks went on but the 5th was from a TL series bass.

I was just 'havin fun' with this build.

I took about 10 guitars from my dads house today....boy the MEMORIES!!!!

Very cool. I love the Vandenberg scheme in the Destiny shape. Been after one of the Destiny customs with a quilt top and oval inlays for a while now. Always been curious about them.

At first I was like "he made that, that's a Peavey isn't it?" Then I'm like (forehead slap) "HE MADE IT!" Awesome! I remember the puzzle graphic Vandenberg models but yeah, that one is a cool one off.

How does it sound? And yes, post some more!

Funny thing is (dont laugh) but I really wanted to see if I could create as much of a 'Les Paul' as I could and get away with it!!! -After all; the Destiny was sort of an arch top and has an attached neck (neck through).

This is why I used Mahogany for the body and neck. I was going to make another using a carved maple top. This is also why I was experimenting with the 'box' type inlays, they were as close to the LP style we had.

These 3D box inlays (always really liked them) were used for a few years on the high end Odyssey guitars. (*also note the oval inlays, these were standard on the TL series bass, and put them on there just to f-around).

It was always my intent to get some p-90s or PAFs on the next one and do a transparent top.

Also....

Heres Adrians personal guitar! It was hand made by Jim Decola (*Peavey chief engineer) and was unveiled at the 91 namm show where Adrian did demonstrations and Q&A with it. He also used this guitar on several recordings/live shows. This is also the only one like it in existence.
