Guitar rack for Gibson Les Paul?

What kind of rack/hanger can I use for long term storage that won't adversely impact the finish on my GLP?

Definitely no hangers if you are doing long term storage. All my guitars live in cases for safety.

That's the irony. The LP came in a Gibson hard shell case, but the interior of the case that contacts the very top of the neck has worn through the varnish. Or whatever they use.

I guess I'll just touch it up. I wonder what they used?

Re: Guitar rack for Gibson Les Paul?

Your LP probably has a nitrocellulose finish, which can be damaged by the foam on many stands. The String Swing hangers are guaranteed to not mar the finish, even with nitro. They are nice hangers. I just installed a bunch of them.

We were just talking about guitar stands in another thread? I would replace the case and keep her in that...

+1 on the String Swings. If you really want a display case, I suggest buying one from this guy:

No.

Try a local or online luthier supply or woodworking store. There are plenty of sources, as long as you can ship ground within the States. Outside of that gets harder.

Keeping all of your guitars hidden away in cases may keep them protected, but what is the point if you can't enjoy them. Guitars in cases are guitars that never get played.
