a guitar with these specs?

i'm looking for a 6 string guitar with these specs (roughly)

mahogany body with/without maple top
at least 22 frets
rosewood/ebony fretboard
flat-top, something without a tune-o-matic/archtop bridge design (eg. NOT like a les paul)
preferably H-S-H
25.5"

i'm looking for a guitar that can handle some thicker jazzier tones than my rg and also has more beef for metal. my mates epiphone sg destroys my rg2550z in terms of metal beef but i can't stand the design of the guitar. also i'd prefer a 25.5" scale neck.

i was looking at an ibanez artist but i dunno if that would be "metal" enough.

If you want more metal from it, just buy some new pickups. A mahogany body will give you a basis for all the beef you need.

Re: a guitar with these specs?

i guess my ideal guitar would be an ibanez rg shape but with a fixed bridge and maybe a set neck and made out of mahogany. i really despise LP-style guitars.

Yeah. An RG321MH would probably be your closest bet. Besides maybe an Arbor guitar or something ha.

I think he wants a flat top so the S-series may be too curved for him. Perhaps?

wouldn't get a fat enough tone from an S anyway. and i don't need a floyd.

rg321 might be the way to go but ill have to try some and compare them to les pauls for some big tone

Well, they are different animals. The Les Paul-style guitars have an arch top, a shorter scale, a set neck, and a different style of bridge. They ARE going to sound a bit different.

I absolutely love the RBM-1 that I bought recently. You could always block the trem.

Re: a guitar with these specs?

I highly recommend the RG321MH. I have one and even tho it didn't cost an arm and a leg it's one of the best guitars I have ever played. I upgraded the pickups and did a custom fabric top finish to it and it's awesome. Of course it was already awesome before the fabric top. I posted pics of the fabric top here on jemsite so if u do a search u will find em.

I would suggest getting one of the 2010 models with the Gibralter standard bridge and the 2010 models seem to have nicer grain patterns than the older ones but that's just my opinion.

Ibanez MTM2. Cheap, RG shape, mahogany body, kickass fixed bridge. Really good guitars for the money.
