Re: Which Guitar of These Two

I can vouch for the crappiness that is the jt-580 trem. I have a Jackson SL-3 that I truly love EXCEPT for the fact that it has the jt-580 trem. It does stay in tune if you don't abuse the trem, but if you plan on using a trem heavily, then stay away from the jt-580. I have a RGT220 coming soon, so the SL-3 will probably be put up for sale... but I do love the SL-3 other than the trem... I may find a local luthier to throw an OFR on it... we'll see.

The Floyd in the DK2m is updated from the regulat JT580, supposed to be better. Have you had any problems? I don't NEED a trem, they just sound better to me, much better than a fixed bridge. Can't be worse than the Edge III in Ibanez White RG's.

I kind of wish it had black dot inlays but the fins are ok, love the binding.

Really, those two guitars couldn't be any more different.

The Jackson is Alder, while the RG is Basswood. The Jackson has a Floyd Rose, while the RG has a hardtail bridge.

I'd still take the Jackson, though.

Definetely the Jackson... there's not much similar between the two except that they're white though.
