Guitars that you relate to the 80's.

I'm sure there are many different brands and models. I know of most of the Ibanez, Charvel, Peavey, Kramer, Carvin, BC Rich and other brands. What I'm looking for right now is something very 80's in looks, preferably of good quality. A few examples:

Bright is good!

Can you think of a model that might be forgotten?

The ESP Dollar Guitar - no it didn't cost a dollar it was covered in real dollar bills! Sweet! If I can find my copy of Kerrang with it in I'll scan the picture and post it!!

EDIT: try this

Nothing says 80's to me more than a Kramer Nightswan, I wanted one of these with the lightning bolt graphic so bad when I was 13.

If you want some modern guitars inspired by the 80's check out Wayne Charvel's (yes that Charvel) company Wayne Guitars:

Wasn't there a guitar someone had that shot flames in some 80's video?

Re: Guitars that you relate to the 80's.

Many good posts here. I want to find a "true" 80's guitar, instead of having a new one made. Not sure why, but I guess it's the same with vintage fans. A reissue just isn't the same.

Re: Guitars that you relate to the 80's.

I think of C. C. DeVille's guitars, the neon green B. C. Rich especially.

Any bright-colored guitar with a single humbucker at the bridge (slanted).

Ibanez JEMs.

Peace

Mike

Not really a Stryper fan, but what about those bright yellow and black striped Jacksons . Very 80's IMO.

Re: Guitars that you relate to the 80's.

Like this one? http://www.hackolutions.com/gear/old...rhoads-stryper[1].jpg

I actually like Stryper, and Oz Fox played great looking guitars. At the moment I'm unsure about superstrat with cool graphic/paint or odd shape (everything else than superstrat, really). I like the RG/superstrat guitars, but they require some hairy finish to be cool. Three-tone sunburst won't do it...

Re: Guitars that you relate to the 80's.

Yeah, Jackson Soloists with graphics I wanted one SOOOOO bad, but everyone I checked out in the 80's fell short in some way and I never got one (though I have one now). Basically all the Jackson, I suppose.
