Hard to Identify

Is there a way to identify what S series model a USA custom is? I know it is a 2004 from the serial number but nothing else matches anything I have found as far as neck, fretboard, inlays....etc. Thanks.

The main reason I was looking to identify is because I want to swap out the F2 with a DP161 but no wiring diagrams match the 5 way I have.

some specs on the guitar
transparent purple
two piece bolt on maple neck
rosewood fretboard
abalone oval inlays
HSS pick up design
F2 and C2 pups
Edge tremolo

Re: Hard to Identify

Sounds like a '92 540sfm-TM with a '92 540S neck on it.

Sadly, it's definitely an '04 or a USA custom. The "Custom Made" inlay was a bunch of BS from Ibanez...... just a marketing ploy.

Re: Hard to Identify

After some more research I was wrong on the date it's a 1990 model serial #F040125. Fujigen factory parts but with the North Hollywood neck plate so I can only assume assembled in CA. Also the neck is like the SCT6 from the 1990 catalog, with the abalone oval inlays and the custom made inlay at 21st fret. Thanks for the input.
