Has anyone played an Ibanez Premium model?

We're getting some of the Ibanez Premiums and I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to play one? If so, how are the necks? Do they feel pretty solid or pretty weak? How's the stability of the neck? Straight, good playability, etc? How are the frets? Good craftsmanship?

I don't care about the finish too much.... it's a quilted top, it'll look good. What I'm interested in is the playability.

Well, supposedly these guitars "have the goods." I'm sure all of us are waiting to see how they actually play. You've seen this page, right? I really like how they decided to do the binding on the neck.

They should be pretty good unless rich's mind got melded by jackson and dean.

When should we expect new models to be in stores, mid febuary?

What I was told is that they are J-Custom quality so is there any reason to question it's playability? I'm sure they'll play ......well, like an Ibanez. And if you are a fan of Ibby's, then there shouldn't be a problem..

Only Spock touches my face.

Box stores claiming 2/2, they get appointments for pickup by their own trucks, so they get "certain" dates. The rest of us just wait for UPS to call early morning wanting to get 1/4 of their truck unloaded.

I'd fully expect them to be an excellent base. I also fully expect to find as many little quirks that need attention on them as I do with everything MIJ.

I also fully expect many to complain about the way they sound, seeing as though they don't have "real" Dimarzio's and all.

Might as well have UPS unload them straight into the dumpster.

How will people use them for playing Vai, Satch, Gilbert, shred, classical, blues, rock, metal, and jazz?

Do they at least have vines and handles? swirls?

Re: Has anyone played an Ibanez Premium model?

Actually, I'm curious about the RG870 (black finish and all).
If you can get RG1570-like feel for $750 again Ibanez might just have something.
And that one certainly doesn't have real Dimarzios.
