Hello, I Reuire Some Assistance

Hi Everyone,

Been lurking for a while and I am new to the Ibanez world. I have recently purchased an rg3570 and am having some issues.

Let me start out by saying that I have been playing guitar for quite a while and have owned many axes with floating bridge systems.

This leads me to my problem/question:

1. My bridge (edge zero zp3) will not sit level when the guitar is tuned.

This is quite weird as the guitar came with factory setup, 9-42's and it was level. The spring tension indicator was around 20%.

I changed the strings, also 9-42s, and require the guitar to be tuned down a half step. No matter what I do the bridge is angled, it will not sit flush. It is sloped downwards with the back of the bridge slighty inwards of the cavity.

I have the spring tension adjustment set to 0% or as low as it will go. The Zero Point system is in its correct place.

What do I do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and I have tried searching, googling etc and spent countless hours. I can not find any solutions.

Thanks again!

Have you stretched your strings properly?

Is your intonation properly set? What's the neck relief?

If you can set both of those and end up with the string length being a little longer, that might help your situation. Otherwise, you'd have to find some looser springs or switch to higher gauge strings.

Re: Hello, I Reuire Some Assistance

With floating bridges I've found the height or angle can be changed while still being in tune.
If your bridge is to high and it is in tune, A 440, you can lower it by turning each tuner down a full spin looser. This drops the pull on the springs a little each time you do this evenly until the bridge is at the correct angle. When you get to an angle you like tune the guitar to itself even if it is not A 440. Then see how much you are off and adjust the A 440 by tightening or loosening the screws that hold the springs in place on the back of the guitar. On 10s I've had to cut the springs a coil or two shorter. If I don't cut the springs I'd have to drive the screws in the back all the way in to the body and that might not even do it. Or you would have to put more springs in the back. Adding more springs only makes it harder to push down on the trem and it pulls harder on the screws.
