Help Identifiying This Model

I'm sure this has been brought up on this site before but I can not seem to find it anywhere. I'm just starting to learn and I just picked this guitar up from a co-worker and am having trouble with finding out what model it is. Its a Roadstar Series II, seriel # B61484. I believe that means its an 86 so I went thru all the 86 catalogs and can not seem to find a pic of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: Help Identifiying This Model

Looks more like a 1986 RG525BK to me. the RG420 had a "Pro-Rocker" trem and was only produced up til 1985. The 1986 RG525 was the first year for the new "Edge" trem. Electriken's guitar looks like it has an Edge.

Electriken: Great find Man!!!! Don't EVER let that bad boy out of your sight!! Your guitar and the mid-eighties PL series is what gave birth to the Ibanez shredder guitars of the late 80's and early 90's. There's some history there. If you ever decide to sell it, come to Jemsite first, ok?

Re: Help Identifiying This Model

Thank you both for the replies. I'll see if I can get some clearer pictures maybe. It's a hard to even find images online. I paid $200 for it with case which is mint condition also. Even has the two booklets that came with it as well. So figured I was getting a decent deal. Hopefully that is *lol

Sweet find. I love that body style.

Does anyone know if a 540s neck would fit on it?

Re: Help Identifiying This Model

At a glance (silhouette) it looks like an RG525, but it isn't. Aside from the RG525 having 24 frets, it also has 3 black knobs (1 tone and 2 volume), and the edges are rounded (even more than a strat) not so 90 degree (like Jem). Plus the top is curved (like a Les Paul), that's another giveaway.
