Help identifying a few models and color names/codes

My brain is mush after hours of searching the Ibanez wiki and all the catalogs, I've made educated guesses but any input is appreciated.

1990 RG550 - Next to what I'm assuming is a JB/Jewel Blue RG570 w/ maple fretboard, clearly a different shade. Maybe EB/Electric Blue? Except it doesn't look like EB was offered in 1990. Or is the RG550 JB and the RG570 is something else?

1997 RG5-150 - Japan only, hard to find anything in English - DR/Deep Red vs TR/Transparent Red?

1985 PR1660 - Assuming the pink is CI/Cherry Ice but not sure about the purple?

1990 UCEW1FM? - Not sure about the model or color for this, pretty sure this is an easy one and I'm just being stupid.

1995 RGR620 TP
1993 RGR620 - Another Japan only - TP/Transparent Purple?

AX35BL
1984 AX45 - Impossible to find any catalog reference to a blue AX45 and it's different than other blues

Unnamed Design DT380
1984 DT380 - Not in any catalogs, unable to find an official name for this design

Re: Help identifying a few models and color names/codes

And some older ones (probably would have better luck at ICW but posting here anyway)

1976 SG copy, bolt-on neck - Unsure about the model, it's a very deep red, not black - 2346/2354/2382/?

No serial Tele copy - 2352/2353/? White/Ivory/?

Really old no serial 1960's Ibanez - Surely pre-color code but unsure about the model #

2671S
No serial 1976/77 Randy Scruggs w/ rectangle inlays, fancy tailpiece, Ibanez script pickups - 2671/?

First off, nice guitars! I like the maple board RG570; i've never seen one with a maple board before.

I'm thinking the RG550 is Lazer Blue and the RG570 is Jewel Blue. JB is going to be darker than LB. Here's a picture of my JB radius which I think looks similar in color to your rg570

Here's a picture of a LB RG770DX from Rich's site. I think this looks like your RG550 and according to ibanez wiki LB was offered in 1990 and 91.

Looks like you're right, I recorded all the serial numbers today and thought I double checked most of them but may have messed up one or two. Not sure which case it's in right now and the pic I took of the back is just barely too blurry to make out whether the serial starts with F3 or F5, but all the other references on google seem to say 1995. Thanks!

Nice, you're probably right, here it is next to 1991 RG770DXLB, I didn't realize they were so similar, the DX seems way lighter in real life. The RG550 still seems to be a bit more of a "pure" blue though. But the way the headstocks look so similar too makes it seem like the must both be LB

Blue [and all colors] can be affected by how much the clear ambers. Look at the PGM200's.

The 770 is LB
The 550 is DAB

Re: Help identifying a few models and color names/codes

The DT380 is a correct model and an "undocumented" finish. The sunburst finish you pictured seems to be the most common of these finishes. There are also several "undocumented" Safari finishes with multiple colors not shown in the 84 or 85 catalogs.

Re: Help identifying a few models and color names/codes

This one is actually a teisco....... they made a TON of guitars that were re-branded for a massive amount of guitar companies. You could get this same guitar with an Ibanez badge, a silvertone (sears) badge, a Kingston badge (like the one I have), or countless other companies.

This one is mine...... the closest I could get to ID'ing it was '66-'69.

Re: Help identifying a few models and color names/codes

The RG550 is LB, although it's a parts guitar to some extent. Clearly the pickups and knobs are from a 770DX. Can't tell the hardware color from the picture.

Dark Adriatic Blue, eh? I'd never even heard of that one...

Right that's what I gathered as well, but at least the couple other Safari finishes can still be classified as "Safari", the black and white stripes I don't even know what to call (not like it matters, but then again not like any of this actually matters, haha)

Yeah I figured something along those lines, although a few years back I could have sworn I found a model number in an Ibanez catalog for an extremely similar guitar. Might have to check the foreign catalog sites again
