Help identifying this Ibanez

Trying to figure out what this guitar is. Its body and neck are bound. All markings have been sanded down. Body shape is like the RG but on the body where the neck plate goes is not contoured like most RGs I see. It also has square neck heel rather than the AANG. Wood looks to be Mahagony but I'm not certain. Any ideas? thx

This could be any of several models. Go get 10 posts so you can show us some pics.
Does it have a trem? What pickup config?
Nothing on the back of the headstock?
Any marking on the neck pocket?

Re: Help identifying this Ibanez

Thanks, I work on getting the 10 post. Its just a bare body but its cut for a Floyd Rose style trem and HSH pickup config. Markings have either been sanded or they are covered up with paint. thx

Re: Help identifying this Ibanez

Sounds like an RT that's had a locking trem fitted from the brief description. there should be fills in whammy route where a vintage style trem screws would have been filled though which would give that away.

But the old RG350's from the early 90's _I Think_ didn't have the angled square joint like the JS they were just block like a strat but they never came with binding iirc

Hard to say without pics.

Re: Help identifying this Ibanez

It could be any RG470 or lower from the late 80s to mid 90s.
Those had the non-tilted square pocket.

Re: Help identifying this Ibanez

I've had three in my life. Mostly because the first was my "first great guitar" and I was feeling nostalgic. The worst component on the guitar is the Lo TRS trem. The pickups were great and all of mine were set up like champs.
