Exclamation HELP Major Tech Question Needs Answering!

Hey guys...

I have a customized jackson along with 7 other ibanez guitars. It has binding on the neck and the flame inlays but one of the frets is coming loose so when I pick the high e string, it gets wedged up under it. how can I fix this without damaging the inlays or the binding?

If it's a nice guitar bring it to a luthier and don't play project with it. Especially if it is one of those Jacksons with the flame inlays running under the B and E strings. Post your location and maybe someone can point you to a good luthier/repair guy.

Re: HELP Major Tech Question Needs Answering!

Jim's right, There are many different ways I could tell you to do it, and each depends on me actually seeing and touching it to determine what the real issue is. For example, if the frets were leveled that way, then you don't want to glue it down because then it will be lower than the rest of them. Maybe it can be hammered down. Maybe it has to be glued down, or maybe it has to be glued "up" (glued, but in it's current lifted position) Then you can fill the slight gap between the fret and the binding with CA and shape it. Maybe just filing the fret ends and cleaning the burr will stop the string from catching. Maybe it's not from the fret lifting so much as it's from the fretboard shrinking and the ends sticking out.
