help a mo fo out with new pick up choice

hi all, i need a new humbucker for my 1980 saber, the original one thats on it is a bit pants, the pole pieces dont line up anywhere near the top e and the bottom e, i read that they make an f design pickup to cope with floyed rose trems, been looking at the dimarzio fred, anyone recomend them? lokking for more top end out of the guitar, i will probably change the middle and neck pick up as well, they are single coil but seem week, and when i higher the pickup i get nasty overtones and intonation issues, i mostly play classic rock sort of stuff in the band, but would like a versitlile sound for recording, sorry for the essay
cheers lee

Pickup's are one of those thing's that might sound great to one,but terrible to another. Then you have to decide passive or active?Youtube is a great tool for answers to your question too!Of my collection of guitars im pretty partial to the tone from my Ibanez EX3700 which has a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge.I play christian rock and metal, and this is a very good pickup with a wide range of tonal options.Other pickup options would be Dimarzio joe and fred,Emg Hz,or Bill Lawrance XL500L.Most of these come F spaced, and the XL500L is a blade style and works great in anything.Hope this helps!
