Help with my rare RG

Ok, I bought my Ibanez a few years ago and started showing pics to my buddy who's an Ibanez freak. The first thing he noticed was my reverse headstock. Since that day we've looked up and down everywhere on the intarweb and can't find a single piece of documentation on my guitar. Here are some pics that maybe someone can help me out with my dilemma. I think its an RGR560, but some help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, the serial number is wierd it begins with F1166

Re: Help with my rare RG

The 565 was H/S, not H/S/S, also had a maple board and was available in 3 colours, one of them being a lighter blue than this.

That's an RGR560.

Re: Help with my rare RG

I'm betting that someone swapped a right handed neck for a left handed one at some point.

Re: Help with my rare RG

Wouldn't the logo then be upside-down?

This is a stock RGR560. I'd bet money on it.

Re: Help with my rare RG

Its an RG560.

Its a Guitar Center 27th Anniversary model. . . .Guitar Center Exclusive from 1991. My friends (was, he spraypainted it green) that same color, Jewel Blue. I believe they came in that color alone.

Funny thing is. . .on my friends guitar. . it actually is a Lefty neck. . .the fret dots are on the wrong side. But the logo is the same.

Somebody must have removed it, but the truss rod cover should say "Guitar Center 27th Anniversary" on it.

Theres a picture of his. Snagged it for $100 at a pawn shop. We put that JEM handle on it. If you look hard, you can make out the Guitar Center logo on the Truss Rod cover. The guitar is at my friends house, so I cant get a good picture of it right now, sorry.

The neck heel just says Ibanez made in japan...

I read your post about it, but mine doesnt have the gc truss rod cover, just a plain black one...i know its possible that it was switched out, but im putting my money on it not being a gc 560.

edit: also, the neck ISNT a left handed neck, its a true reverse neck. The fret markers are on the correct side and the logo (obviously) is not upside down.

Re: Help with my rare RG

I believe the RGR560 was released in Jewel Blue, too. The 580 definitely was.

It all makes sense to me.

+1...

hey Adivorcedsin, it would be great if you could send those pics to Jerry at ibanezregister.com, listing it as a RGR560JB, cause it's missing there.

Re: Help with my rare RG

I think by "neck heel", he meant to pull the neck off. The model number will be stamped under there. Don't believe me? Have a look...

Have a squiz then post what it is.
