Help with RG321 Mod

Hi, I bought two new guitars, a RG2EX1 and a RG3EXQM1, (yes I prefered
fixed bridges) so I would like to mod my old RG321, I always wanted a
Fernandes Sustainer and a piezo bridge but I dont know if is a good idea
put it together on the same guitar, i will have too many controls and
switches

At the moment my RG have the Tone Zone/Air Norton combo, I want to
know how good is the Fernandes Sustainer as neck pickup, the Air Norton
is a perfect neck PU for me, but I dont know id the sustainer can deliver
that sound and I don't know if the sustainer will work with the Tone Zone and the piezo.

Here is a rendition of what I hope my guitar will be!

PS. Sorry for my english

Sounds pretty sweet!

Its alot of work obviously, but it will be interesting to see how it will turn out if you go ahead with it.

Looks nice, though you may want to consolidate the controls a tad. From the looks of it, the control cavity for all that stuff spread out the way it is would be gigantic.

Re: Help with RG321 Mod

Ever saw the back of a Parker?

Anyway, from what ive heard, the neck pup part of the sustainer is good, but not great... certainly not an Air Norton by any means...

What you might wanna try (for added complexity in the wiring) is getting a dimarzio Pro Track in there with the Sustainer... Acording to the guys at dimarzio, its the single that sounds closer to the AN...

Good luck with the project, and post pics along the way if you can

That is a confusion that I have, Fernandes sells two types of sustainer, one is a humbucker/single coil combo, comes with 3 potentiometers, 1 pickup selector and the card with the microswitches to activate and control the sustainer. Another one have only the humbucker sized sustainer and the microswitches. I think that the last one is the right choice for my project but I really dont know which is better. I dont have anybody near that have the sustainer so I cant test by myself.

Another problem is the power of the two devices, sustainer and piezo. The LR Baggs system and the Sustainer needs a 9v battery to work, maybe I can put only one battery to power both, but I dont know if will work correctly.
