I am going to be building a long term RG2570 project, but in the short term I am GAS'ing for a new complete guitar that I can just put my choice of pickups in. I've got a couple of old Roadstar II's, a RS530 and an RS430.
I absolutely love the 530. I've built a really nice Epiphone Dot with high quality wiring, pots, new tuners, bridge, tailpiece, nut, pickups, the lot. But I still keep going back to that 27 year old Ibanez.....
I finally realised that it was the neck. It's just so comfortable in my hand. I don't have the biggest hands, more like short stubby fingers instead. And that guitar just suits me down to the ground. That's why I decided to build the 2570. But that's going to take ages and I want something new now, as I have just sold a couple of old car parts and could spend about £250 on a used Axe (although my girlfriend told me not to buy anything else yesterday
I've seen the guitars mentioned in the title for sale, and need to make a choice. The Prestige SA1260 intrigues me and could be a bit of a bargain, but I do love those old Roadstars.
I'm mindful however, not to let sentiment take me over. I've seen a very nice RG570 in the States that might be an option if the guy fancies lowering his price, although I'm not convinced he will.
Just want opinions on these four guitars really. As I say, I love the neck on my Roadstar II RS530. I don't play shred stuff, more mainstream rock, but the way it feels is sublime.
What do I do? Going to a store to try any of these isn't really an option at the minute.
