Sorry guys, I don't know of a link but I have some very clear piccys for the guitar close up if anyone wants to post them on a site and provide a link for others....?

Dave

P.S Tried it through my 10U rig on Saturday, rolled off some gain, delay feedback and reverb and it came into it's own. What a tone!

The RG1200 was just the top of the line production RG in 92 before it went into the USA custom series according the the catalogue.

I'm honoured that Rich though I'd be able to help, but I apologise for not having gotten to actually replying in this thread any sooner, but I must admit knowing very little about this guitar apart from the fact I thought about buying one earlier this year off ebay.

I've seen Rudi Buttas in pictures with the guitar, BUT only for a short time, prior to using the RG3070 he was using an RBM2 and most recently is pictured with a JEM10. So I wouldn't be able to confirm it as his signature model. I'm not even sure he has one as such.

I don't have it in any catalogue, I presume it was n the 96 cat, which is theonly one I'm missing since the very early 90s Maybe you could bring it along to the next UK JEMfest and all us UK guys can have a good look at it , or if there's a jam session up north again...?

Magnus Olsson have some pictures and some info on his gear page: http://magnusolsson.com/gears.htm

He choose to strip of the green layer on the neck to make it more playable.

if i had cash i'd buy it, its a good deal for such a guitar, and a rarity for that matter.

Wow, old thread. These are wicked guitars if you take the green plastic off the fretboard.

The green stuff is like lighting gel (plastic sheet) and it's only held on by the frets.

Re: Help!!! A well green Prestige RG3070!?

i searched the forum and resurrected this thread only because of this
http://www.bolha.com/oglas2572710

and it's not advertising, it's not my guitar and i'm not affiliated with the owner in anyway, so no need to ban or anything. i just find it interesting

He's a friend of mine - what do you want to know? Anyway, he sold his RG3070GN a while ago but it had a replacement neck because the green fretboard finish came off on the original neck.

Dee, Kevan had said earlier that the maple board was stained green and then cleared over. You think it's some sort of removable plastic? This sure is an odd one though.

But the green plastic on the neck made it horrible to play, so I could either remove it and use the guitar or leave it there and never use it. So I took the plastic away from the fretboard, and it made it look even more amazing, and now I play it a lot. ~ Magnus Olsson
