Herman Li Signature Ibanez

Quite a while ago, the Dragonforce website reported that Herman Li was working with Ibanez in developing his own signature model Ibanez. I have not heard anything else about it since then, however.

Has anyone heard anything concerning the project? I would imagine it would be heavily based on the S-series, which is what he mostly plays. I have also heard that he plays RGs and even a JEM, however, so we'll just wait and see...

Re: Herman Li Signature Ibanez

I'm guessing S540, evo HSH, edge pro,

maybe we'll see 24 frets and a maple fingerboard, but I doubt it.

I love dragonforce. Normally, I prefer my rg's over my S540, but, for the harmonizer effect they use so often, the mahogany has a narrower sounding range that works better for dragonforce IMO.

Re: Herman Li Signature Ibanez

He will be getting his own model, yes. I have heard that too.
But I doubt very much that it will be a production model. The band are nowhere near well-known enough to warrant a production model. The sales figures would be meagre. If the band grew in popularity some more, there may be a chance. But apart from some very few hardcare Ibanez fans and some Power-Metal fans, there wouldnt be many people screaming for one!

I think they're really well known, they head lined their first US tour and have toured everywhere. I don't see why it wouldn't be a production model. (They're probably more popular than korn right now!)

I'd get one, if its similar to the s-series model he uses. Im think they're getting more popular, they've featured numerous times in Uk guitar publications recently. I'd love to see a Herman Li sig Ibanez.

They're on the main stage at Ozzfest, draw your own conclusions.

Re: Herman Li Signature Ibanez

How big were Dream Theater before JP got a signature model?

Herman's getting more well known and is becoming a bit of a cult figure in the UK, I guess the same will happen in the US with the way things are headed.

Remember - You saw him here first folks

Re: Herman Li Signature Ibanez

DragonForce has probably already outsold Frank Gamble, Danger Danger, and many others.

Dragonforce is not flavor of the week like slipknot, korn, limp bizkit, etc.

Herman Li is a worthy candidate in my opinion.

This brings me to a great point i love making!

I think the decision to produce a signature model should be based on skill/reputable status of a good guitar player and not how many records you sell/how much money you make!

Case and point: The guy from Good Charlotte gets an EBMM signature? *pukes*

I think ibanez has been a little guilty of this myself. They proved it when a mick thompson model was released before a balducci model.

Re: Herman Li Signature Ibanez

I think this would be a pretty cool axe if they finally made a 24 fret S series or something for him.

Re: Herman Li Signature Ibanez

Mick Thompson = well known

Rob Balducci = shredders on a Ibanez site know him

its about appeal, marketability, and the ability for a potential buyer to want it.

Although Rob is fricking fantastic. I bet 90% of people you ask wouldnt have a clue who he was. Cant say the same about some of the other endorsee's.
