Re: Hey S series fans.......

If they'd move that damn input jack off the top of the guitar, I'd buy one in a heartbeat!!

That's one of its best features!!

Sabers are the guitars that hooked me to Ibanez,it has always been the best designed guitar ever for me and Ive often thought that if it had 24 frets from the get go it would have been their number one model. I use RG's too,but the input jack(unless a JC or JEM) sucks,i think its time the JEM jack was standard(even though that aint perfect either). Ive yet to buy a new prestige/jc version,I'm holding out in hope of a return to the original edge trem as standard but gas has begun on the new cherry blossom due to its white neck binding.

Back on topic, they have been out for a while and look great ,but I'm Japan or nothing as far as Ibanez goes.

Re: Hey S series fans.......

Those have been around for almost half a year actually, but they do look great. Of course, the Saber is the best Superstrat design around.

Sorry to kind of ressurrect a thread. But um, That was another selling point for me, the top mounted input jack. I like to sit and play, and the traditional spot for the jack KILLS straite cables, even if you are careful. Otherwise, Yes I would have bought an RG420. Another BIG seller for me was the ZR Trem.

The guitar pictured in grey is next on my list. MF had it in a catalog about 2 months ago, It was either This one Or the S420. I got the 420. About a 200-250 price differance is what killed the deal.

The Zebra wood is amazing. All of my guitars are unpainted, As I like natual wood grain and the more grain there is, the better. RG, have you played an S series? This is a DREAM guitar for me.

Re: Hey S series fans.......

Here's mine 1991 S540LTD SOL, guitar is in dead mint condition! Frets have no wear, neck is PERFECT, and body has no scratches at all!

Of course it is Japan made. Only Japan made Ibanez guitars work for me. It's my fourth MIJ Ibanez, previously had 1990 RG570 purple neon, 1990 RG550 black and I still have 1990 JEM77FP (this one's a keeper!)
