How do I identify pickups?

Hi everybody,

I have a RG7620 and I am sending the pickups to the manufacturer for potting. When I took out the pickups I noticed that there were no visible differences between them. How do I tell which one is th IH7N2BKM or the IH7B2BKM? Or are these both the same and the difference in sound has to do with where they are placed?

Thanks for your help.

I'm guessing the "B2B" one is the bridge and the "N2B" one is the neck.

I think he's saying that neither are marked, so he can't tell which is which...

If these are the stock pickups in a 7620 (Dimarzio New 7's) they should be marked something like N2 and B2 on the base, and that's about it. The manufacturer of the 7620's stock pickups is DiMarzio.

You are correct Jim. There is no marking on the pickup at all. I engraved a B and an N on the corresponding pickup so that I could install them properly. I just thought it was odd that there was nothing else.
