Wink How to make graphics...

Use your creativity
You don't need to pay an artist or learn how to paint.I'll tell you how I did it.

1- Created a body and headstock graphics in photoshop and used a scale pic of my guitar body/headstock shapes to make them with the right sizes.

2- Went to a printer shop (don't know how it's called in english) and printed it in the same paper as cd covers.

3- Sanded down my guitar, sharped its horns and took out mid pup and tone pot(filled with wood filler) then applied white glue.

4- Applied graphics and cut their sides.

5- Because of paper its sides were white so I did a burst all around it but if you don't want a burst just paint their white sides with a pen.

6- Applied 3 cams of clear coat then polished it.Clear coat is absorved by paper and graphic looked like glass.

Budget =

1- To print it = 3 dollars
2- 3 clear coat cams = 10 dollars
3- Payed about 20 dollars for a car painter to do the burst and polish it.

In the end it had black floyd(not gold) and blue evos.Everybody who saw it wanted it.
Pics are far away of how shiny it was but still you can see nobody could tell it's a printed graphic.
There'll be always someone who will say - hey I didn't like your graphic so......realize this is NOT about my graphic cause you can create any graphic you want BUT about how it's cheap and results are awesome.

Seriously you guys never thought about doing that?
Never did that at school,I mean glueing an image on a piece of wood, glass whatever?
You guys are really taking guitars too seriously.
They're just pieces of wood(ok some are acrylic, some are metal) come'n experiment.
If in the first try it doesn't looks good just sand it down again, nothing is undoable

Re: How to make graphics...

Photoshop already fired up!!!!! THIS is exactly what I needed! Thanks 6!!!

I've experimented with a LOT of different types of paper, but could never find one that glues without bleeding or takes clearcoat very well......

designs to come!!!
