Man what has happened to that poor guitar? Not just the poor packaging.

And is that the ball ends installed in the saddles? Those frets look hammered.

Congrats, I'm sure it will be great after some TLC.

Ha! That's nothing....

I've also had one shipped to me where the guy literally slapped a shipping sticker on the guitar case with no packaging at all, but I think the above takes the cake.

I once had guitar sent to me with hardcase only without cartoon box or whatsoever.
it travels safely from Japan.
maybe I'm lucky guy.

I've seen worse packaging than that.

A friend of mine got a guitar shipped in the case with the ups label taped to it.
The case was taped shut too.
It was a JEM case!
It was beat to hell!

A guy shipped a Jackson to me once in only a paper thin gig bag with the address label stuck to the bag. Heart in mouth when I opened the door to the courier but amazingly in was okay.

Jeez.... Well at least the guitar survived! Sweet guitar BTW!

What are you doing with the pickups?

I wish I had taken a picture of the packaging of the guitar I just got, but I ditched all the packaging right at the UPS store. Due to the massively huge case, they used a Fender box that probably had multiple guitars in it. They used crumpled up newspaper for packing but when I opened the box, there was probably a foot of dead air space in the top and the case was completely exposed.

Thankfully this thing was bulky and heavy enough that it couldn't really get thrown around and everything was unscathed.

Re: How to NOT package a guitar for shipping....and an NPOSD

When I bought Stealth's J Custom recently, the customs folks decided to skip replacing all the packing material after they did their inspection. So, I basically got a shipping box with a guitar case rattling around inside... nothing else but a couple loose pages of Canadian newspaper

Thank god it survived. A testament to Ibanez's ABS Prestige cases.

Yeah they did the same thing when LiveWire shipped me the swirly 7. Its REALLY irritating and I can't believe how disrespectful and lazy customs is. I am seriously thinking about driving down to the US whenever I ship guitars off from now on because the people working for customs are lazy as hell.

That's the 760 that was on the 'bay a few weeks back... Your pictures show a lot more wear than the seller's did.

It's a '92 RG760, the only one ever made with a direct-mount humbucker. That's why he bought it
