How are PGM301s?

I've not got any large Ibanez dealers where i live (which pisses me off..), so i can't really go and try one.

the PGM301 was the first Ibanez i saw, and i kind of fell in love when i saw it, however after going over the official site/other forums, etc, i started likeing S's as well..

Anyways, I'm probably going to be buying an S somewhere down the road, but I'd like to have a bit of input on the PGM as well....So how is it?

thanks in advance.

IMHO, it is the perfect guitar in the fact that it has MIJ quality, maple fretboard, a fixed bridge, Prestige neck, and the volume is out of my way.

That being said, any of the Prestige RG models would be of the same quality.

I'm also lookking toward this model, as it's time to change my Yamaha rgx and I'm so bored of locking nut guitars...

The only thing that bothers me is the lack of tone control.

Re: How are PGM301s?

I used to have one, it was a great guitar probably the best Ibanez I owned. It was a great player & a looker. I love maple fretboards and prefer hardtails to string thrus. What I liked most about it was its tone, it sounded really articulate even under **** loads of distortion I sold it because I'm more of a metal guy and I like my Jacksons better

Big +1 on that. I love mine for all the same reasons. It's a solid and simple guitar.

In fact I would favor a S with 24 frets and the same kind of fixed bridge
