I think that the proper way is "ee-BAH-gnez". But here in Brazil we say, "ee-ban-ez". It feels very weird saying "eye-bun-ez",...

Just wanted to chime in and say that Hoshino Gakki started as a Japanese importer of Spanish Guitars made by a Spanish company called Ibanez.
After growing a bit and buying the whole production together with the name they started using the name to market all their products.

It is a spanish name and names are always mispronounced abroad.
It's like a rule.
Just ask a french guy to say Fender and you'll see what I mean.

What is this G.A.S. that everyone speaks of? urbandictionary.com doesn't give me anything helpful.

EYE-ban-ezz.

How do you, without living in either of these countries, pronounce a Spanish word that belongs to a Japanese company?

Re: How to pronounce "Ibanez"

Ask any spanish speaking guy and they will pronounced it as: "ee-ban-yez"
This name is a common family name in my country and we pronounced it like the spanish way. But those people who likes to sound American, they pronouced it as: "eye-ban-nez, tho they know it is incorrect.
