I have a friend who has one. He likes to tune it down to B so it's got the same range as a 7-string.

I've been looking for one for awhile. There's one on that evil auction site that nobody's bid on yet. I also have a line on one locally for $875.......don't know if I'm gonna pull the trigger though.

If you think those are rare? I own the only EC-29 with a factory routed Steve Vai cutout. Would you like to see it?

Re: How rare is the Washburn EC-29??

I have only seen one in pictures and when I used to collect a lot, I saw just about everything out there. Those extended Washburns must be truly rare. From what you are saying it's nice to know they are also very good guitars.

I have known forever they make great acoustics and that's what I see most players playing if it's a Washburn. Other companies like Ovation, Takamine, and Taylor have/had solidbody electrics though they are also not that common.

Re: How rare is the Washburn EC-29??

My guitar teacher has both an EC-29 and EC-36. He used to play the EC-36 a lot but more recently he's been playing a couple LTD's that he has. There's a short video of him playing the EC-36 on his Facebook page.
