How similar is the RG1550M to the RG20th?

Just curious, how similar is the RG1550M to the RG20th.

Is it just edge vs. edge pro and the difference in pickups? Is the 1550's "wizard" neck the same as the RG20th? But same otherwise?

Thanks.

Re: How similar is the RG1550M to the RG20th?

My 20th Annv. 550 has the original type (square) neck joint --- My 1550?/?2550 has the AANJ -- The neck on My 20th is 17mm @ nut and the neck on My 1550?/?2550 is 18mm @ nut.

Hope this helps

I don't believe the 20th has the "Prestige" treatment on the neck, namely the rounded frets. It does seem to have the same type of 5 piece neck (just going by photos, don't own a 550 reissue) and it should have the same modern neck reinforcement.

the fretwork on my RG3550MZ (sold), was no better than my RG20th (bought).

the RG20ths are KILLER

I also own another prestige (RG20061), and the fretwork, again, seems about the same quality.

Its easily as good as any prestige ive played. Even better, with the edge trem...

my opinion of course
