Which humbuckers work with Ibanez S?

Do you think a Humbucker From Hell and a Paf Pro would work on an Ibanez S?

Re: Wich humbuckers work with Ibanez S?

I love the PAF Pro as a neck pickup, and I can't imagine a guitar that would NOT work well with that pickup. The Humbucker from Hell is awfully bright and thin, though - I don't know if that'd be my first choice in the bridge unless you were specifically chasing Dimebag's tone out of a VERY high gain amp...

With those pickups I would rather put Humbucker From Hell in neck position and PAFPro in bridge. Anyway Humbucker From Hell is trebly pickup primarily for neck position.

What tones do you like?
Lots of low end?
Hugh output?
Low output?

etc.?

Would the PAF Pro work in the bridge position? I am looking for a 80's Paul Gilbert kind of sound. Now I have HGD1 (passive/alnico) in neck position and HGD2 (passive/ceramic) in bridge position. Which of the two would bring me closer to a 80's Paul Gilbert kind of sound? Humbuckers From Hell or the PAF Pro? Do you recommend other pickups? But I was told the PAF Pro was very Paul Gilbert. And I've Been told he also have used HFH. And what if I plugged the guitar in a Marshall DSL 100w top? And maybe Marshall 1960 AX and BX cabinets? Any tips?

I am playing Heavy Metal and Neo- Classical music. Yngwie Malmsteen and Racer X. Soon I am going in the studio to record an instrumental rock/metal album. And I want a kick ass sound.

Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, all used PafPro in bridge position.

For the tone you want, in an S Mahogany body, use a Dimarzio Fred or Norton in the bridge.
Not the Air Norton!

The PAF Pro is the only pickup you want for you neck pickup to achieve the tone you’re after.

I like the Air Norton in the neck and a crunch lab in the bridge. Can achieve a nice progressive metal/guitar instrumental sound. Good luck.
