I did it....

Since I am selling my Jackson Soloist, I went out and picked up a RGT3120TDB today. I went out with the determination that I was either coming home with a JEM7VWH or the RGT3120. After test driving both for quite some time, I settled on the RGT3120. Believe it or not I was more comfortable with the the Ultra Prestige neck. Also, I was looking for more of a warm sounding rock guitar where the Jem was more of a "look at me" sounding guitar with its distinct bright tone. It was a close race overall, but in the end the neck and my preference for that more traditional mahogany tone ruled.

After I got her home I added new strings and tweaked the setup as best I could. I am still getting some fret-buzz around the 3-5 and 10-14 frets. I figure I have to let her adjust to the new environment before I make any more adjustments. I read before that the out of the box setup seems to be a chonic problem with the Prestige stuff, so I am not surprised that it may take a few trys to get it right.

Congrats dude. I was thinking about one of those a few months ago but couldn't bring myself to spend the cash. Let me know what you think about the neck, upper fret access and the pickups.
