I got the JCustom blues

I just find it odd that this guitar is apparently untradeable and unsellable. Odd to the point of almost becoming a paradox. Someone just offered me $1000 for it telling me that's all it's worth. I think I'd rather burn it than sell it for a grand.

Re: I got the JCustom blues

Depends what you're looking to trade it against maybe?

And it's definitely a buyers market at the moment for pretty much all guitars at the moment. If you're not using it, just close the case on it for a while and try again when the economy improves?

I'm with jono, don't do anything that you don't want to. just ignore crap offers, especially on such a beautiful machine.

Yeah, that's just a guy chancing his hand at $1000. It's worth a lot more than that. I think it's a beautiful guitar, I'd buy it no probs.

A grand? That's nuts! I agree with the others--lock it away until the economy improves. A grand?!?!? While I'd love to get my hands on a J Custom for $1000, I'd never low-ball a Jemsiter like that. How about $1100.00? LOL

Re: I got the JCustom blues

I only really got one trade offer here for it but it was nothing I was interested in. I know I'm not gonna get the value I paid Rich. The reserve I had it at on the 'bay was actually significantly lower than what I paid. Seems like it's been a buyer's market for quite a number of years now.

I worked out a decent deal with velocity where I sent an original PGM100, a PF200 and a Heartfield Talon IV for a Jackson KE-2 USA custom in ghostbusters slime green. I'm pretty content with that deal value wise.

I've had an FE as well but the flame on yours is special... I still regret selling mine for a ridiculously low price. If you don't need the money, hold on to it because I doubt you'll find another like it.

Re: I got the JCustom blues

With luck I'll have sold/traded 14 of my 30 Ibanez. Gonna buy some Carvins (3 customs and a acoustic electric AE185 - Carvin's are amazing guitars for the custom prices honestly) and keep the collection to a more manageable size. Keeping the 4 USA customs, the 2 Maxxas, 2 PGM's (401 & 10th), 2 540PII customs, the Fireman, 2 560's, the 2660, the RS-1 Italian flag guitar and my SZ520. Then I have the 2 Hamer USA Californians, the forthcoming Jackson, the EBMM JPX6 (I think the JPX7 may be going out as well...never should have bought it in hindsight) annnnnnd my 3 Caparisons. Oh, and the Hembry Iceman which has grown on me and my Fender Jazz bass.

Milkshake, we'll see what happens. If I still have it, I'd welcome dealing with you, even beneath a mountain of import forms.

Re: I got the JCustom blues

That is a freakin' gorgeous top on there. $1000 is laughable.

Hold on to it for a little while. Now with J Customs being offered here in the US, there may be a chance some of these will be considered "more collectible".

I'd keep it and I wouldn't entertain any offer except for one you feel comfortable with.

Re: I got the JCustom blues

As previously mentioned, just hold on to it. I was having a hard time selling mine too, so I just ended my listings and I'm keeping it.

Re: I got the JCustom blues

Anything bought at the height of the market took a hit. I've got plenty still I paid too much for compared to today's market. ;/

That was always a really good one though.

Re: I got the JCustom blues

Hold on to it for now, the interest will turn around. Wonderful FE and Rich-ified too. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I wouldn't own one of her other beautiful sisters .
