I guess my PGM has me spoiled

I've had my PGM 301 for a little over a year now. Since owning it I NEVER play my other guitars. I don't even look at them, just instinctively pick up my PGM. Last night I glanced at my 550 and feeling guilty decided to pick her up. WOW what a difference. I got used to the basswood being so light that the 550 felt like I was holding my Les Paul! When I went to switch pickups it then struck me that the selector switch angle on my PGM totally has me spoiled as well. 550 just felt weird and uncomfortable. I think I'm going to be forced to buy a blank 550 pick guard and mimic the PGM functionality, otherwise my pristine 550 that I love will just be another dust collector : v (

Any other PGM users feel the same way?

Re: I guess my PGM has me spoiled

If they would make the RG body a bit smaller..

What is that beast you see Paul playing that is smaller and has tuners on each side of the headstock?

THe RG550 is basswood, but the it's the basswood from Asia which is denser. The PGM like the Jem/Universe uses American Basswood which is less dense and therefore weighs less. That would be why there's a weight difference, however I should note that the PGM301 doesn't have a trem and the Edge/Lo-Pro on the RG550 does add a significant amount of weight to the body. So maybe it's a combination of both American Basswood and lack of trem on the PGM301 that makes it lighter.

(in the case of a PGM300 and an RG550, then it's really just the wood)

Nope that isn't it.

It looks like a reverse RG with smaller horns. It's Fire Alarm Red.
