If you want people to be able to read and understand your posts you might want to give the "no paragraphs" stance a second thought.

Sorry if i'm being a grammar nazi, but the whole point of posting on forums is so people can read and understand your point of view and i'm guessing that most folks just gloss over the "big wall of text" type posts anyway, I know I do.

Rock on!

Re: I hate fender guitar shaped guitars...

Just want to point out to the OP that the Ibanez RG shape is in fact a variation of the basic Stratocaster design, which Ibanez, at one point, used to copy. Kudos to them for coming up with their own, more unique variation (that, ironically, Fender copied for the Heartfield Talon).

Having played both, I have to say that FOR ME, the Stratocaster shape is as close to ergonomically perfect at it gets. It just works for me.

Would I like an Ibanez? Sure -- I had one for many years and quite liked it. But I would hold on to my Strats.

What do you mean by "rocking against the frets"? Please explain.

I was just simply pointing out its flaws i've encountered as I do with all guitars
No, you are specifically referring to only Fender guitars in this post. You made no reference to any other brand.

Fender did more than copy Ibanez. Ibanez ghostbuilt Talons for Fender.

Re: I hate fender guitar shaped guitars...

Technically Fujigen Ghostbuilds Ibanez, so I don't think you can really say that Ibanez ghostbuilt the Heartfield stuff?

I liken the Strat to an old classic American muscle car.

Whereas the RG superstrat is like a modern Japanese sports car (300ZX, NSX, etc.).

Depends what your preferences are.

Re: I hate fender guitar shaped guitars...

Everyone on this forum should have some respect for the strat. The whole point being, take 1 handfull of strat parts + 1 mental resident of california with a dutch surname = 1st superstrat, the blueprint for which all superstrats have evolved from.

It took me some time to come to terms with wanting anything but an ibanez, but as i got more and more into the guitar as an instrument, i had a better understanding of why certain models are so important to the evolution of both music and guitar design.

To say you don't like a strat but like an rg is like saying, you like an amg mercedes sl but not a mercedes sl.

Re: I hate fender guitar shaped guitars...

I love the strat, I find it a very easy guitar to play. I've got a mex one and although all the pickups are now replaced with duncans I see now problem with it.
Refering to looks. Picking a new guitar or bass for me is like women, you find yourself drawn to the ones that you like the look of and go from there. It's a cold start as you could be missing out on a real diamond from that one that didn't look to good but unfortunatly thats life. Then you take it home and let your hand make a scream......
