I just played an ES-335. - Holy crap!

I've never played a nicer sounding, nicer playing guitar in my life. I never thought I would find my ideal guitar in a Gibson Hollowbody!!!

...now if it just had a floyd...

I just played an ES-335.

I just played one today as well at GC. *You may want to check out the Ibanez Artstar or Scofield...let's keep it in the family, ok?

I'm glad you liked it! *I don't have a semi-hollowbody like that but have played them and definately dig the tone for a lot of applications. *I have a very blues=based style and something like that would be perfect. *(if it had an edge trem (man I love to dream )Just watch out for feedback when playing live. *I'm definately with Greg though, check out the Artstar Series. *IMO it's just as good of a guitar with 1/2 the price. *A friend had one back when I was in school and it was one of the sweetest sounding guitars I'd ever heard. *Hard to get ued to after playing much smaller solid-bodies so long though...
BTW this shoud be under Other 6 String Guitars.

I just played an ES-335.

I had an Ibanez AS120 for a while. It was a sweet ride... a lot of people don't have much good stuff to say about the workmanship on Korean guitars, but it was pretty slick. Played great, looked great, sounded great. I believe the highest end guitar in the AS series is made in Japan, and it's still probably 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a ES335. Definitely plan on checking one out if you haven't already!

Actually, I'm not planning on buying a guitar anytime soon. But still, I'm amazed.
