I need a cheap fixed bridge guitar..any ideas?

Hello,

I have an RG 520qs which I love but I now have a need to change tunings without any hassles.

I basically need something thats not too pricey and has a similar feel to my rg. My friend has a Jackson PS-1 performer which I wouldn't mind getting.

Any ideas?

thanks

I second that. I've got one, it kicks ass. Especially with TZ/AN combo.

I third RG421. Japanese made for about 500 and cant go wrong.

Great choice with the Wizard II also, Ive learned to appreciate it after having it for quite a while. Much better then original wizards.

Hmm, if you can get your hands on one, I'd suggest to try an old SF470. Really sweet, in my opinion. They were produced around '93, if that helps!!

Edit: I just noticed you searched a guitar with RG feeling, so go for the RG

I have the RG421 it's pretty cool. You can find them for under $500 US. There are only a couple of things I don't like about the guitar though like the stock pickups (V7/V8). They sound like muddy garbage. Another thing I don't like is the H-H pickup config... I'd have prefered it to have the H-S-H that most of the other RGs have. I think I am going to sell mine and wait on a decently priced PGM500.

Reachwind: Let me know if you end up selling it I may be interested. I want to buy at least another as second to the one I have. Their still kinda hard to find used since their still fairly new and most stores DONT stock them. I had to special order mine and the rep at Daddys said almost no chain stores would carry it in stock. Kind of a shame but at long as I get my hands on em!!

But to stay a little more on topic I'll add that IMHO Ive always thought the V8 pickups were actually decent and blow other stocks away. I was more then happy with the tone I got from it before I replaced it with an EMG. But I dont think you'd wanna keep it anyway.

Are you near a Sam Ash? Every SA I've been to carries them. They seem to have a much better Ibanez selection that the GC's in my area.
