Cool! I love the look of those guitars. However, the only thing I don't like is that large "SRC" inlay. If that was gone, I'd pick it up in a second!

I'm not sure how much it'll b yet...they said they would give me a good price...around 12000 NOK which is about 1,576.63 USD. Yes I know you can get em in America for 899. Americans r lucky! I wanted to order one off the net, but I was told that ESP would not let companies ship out of America.

Yea I agree with the SRC logo...don like it...but I think I'll like the rest of the guitar.

I briefly saw the six-string version of the new SRC model on the weekend. Looked really nice, but is quite pricey for a Korean guitar. The quality is just getting so good out of those factories, but it's unfortunate that the price also seems to be jacking up accordingly, making it a bit of a harder sell.

On another note, i also had a close look at a Chinese-made Squier and was blown away at how much the Chinese quality has improved over the last year or two. Import guitars seem to be aligning themselves along the lines of Japan for high-end, Korea for the midrange and China/Indonesia/Malaysia for the low end.

But the Korean signature models seem to be blurring that line a bit, with the high-end Korean stuff bleeding over the mid-to-high-end Japanese guitars.

i thought the 6 string was japanese made and the 7 string was korean or whatever, some review was making a big deal about it.

A couple of years ago, there were 6-string and 7-string versions that had a standard inline headstock and H-H-S pickup config. There was also an LTD version of the 6-string.

Those models have been revised and updated. The newer models that have the H-H-(x) configuration, reverse headstock and SRC inlay are Korean-made LTDs. The Japanese ESP SRC model hasn't been updated.

On a related note, do Hetfield and Lynch actually use their signature model LTD baritones? Both seem like HUGE departures from their usual instruments, and seem quite... lame.

Hetfield uses it on one song on the new album. And who cares if lynch uses his, it's the one of the best looking guitars around at the moment

Must be a matter of taste, then, because i can't stand the body shape or the finish. I've never liked that "bat wing"-like ESP body. Too goofy and gimmicky. And while i love hot rod flame jobs, most of the ones i've seen on guitars lately (including on Hetfield's and Lynch's baritones) have been really poorly done.

I'm with you Darren and on top of the strange shaped Lynch baritone the ESP company sells their LTD range at prices higher than Japanese Jackson and Ibanez guitars. .................and some people still buy them..........

weird

I mean don't get me wrong, I've got 2 ESP (NOT LTD) guitars and I reach for one of them 9/10 times I want to jam with the TV but geting a new ESP or a LTD today - you will be 10 times better off geting a second hand one or geting a Japanese Ibanez or a Jackson for the same money as an average Korean made LTD.
