I played a 1994 S470 with a scalloped Wizard I(?) neck today
I think it was a Wizard I. It was the absolute thinnest neck I've ever seen. Hand crampingly thin. It was like half the thickness of the Wizard Premium neck in the RG1XXVs. Not exaggerating. It was like as thick as my cell phone (htc Inspire).
What neck did 1994 S470s come with? Wizard I?
I played it at GC because I'd never played a guitar with scalloped frets (other than the Jems with the last 4 frets scalloped) and I wanted to see what it was like. They were scalloped from the 12th fret to the 22nd. I assume this is custom and Ibanez has never produced any factory scalloped necks.
Crazy shredders dream.
To be honest I didn't really notice a huge difference on the scalloped frets. Maybe they were a little easier to play but it could've been in my head.
The Wizard III felt like a fat ass Strat neck after playing this one
