Re: IBANEZ 2013 (who has the inside scoop)

They probably figured most people don't use it so why spend the money on putting it in. Also, lots of the standard Indo HH guitars are three way switches, including the RG7420/7421's. Total deal killer.

Well for those yeah I could understand them not putting em in (to lower cost, making them more attractive to people who cant afford something MIJ), but i do like to have tuned down guitars so it makes my life miserable. Maybe thats a good reason to invest in that pumpkin RG3250.

Re: IBANEZ 2013 (who has the inside scoop)

I started the copy, the pic pages might have to wait for a better internet connection. This one will drive you to smoke!

http://www.ibanezrules.com/namm/2013/index.htm

I also reshot all the pictures I'll use in my New pages today with my preferred camera. I think they came out really good, but until I see them on a real PC instead of this laptop screen.....

Next thing you know someone is doing to glue a fretboard to a harp and add strap-locks to it, and toss a J-Custom logo on it.

Re: IBANEZ 2013 (who has the inside scoop)

This year will be a good year for Ibanez. Seven string JEM was a great move, and I think it's gonna sell like hell. They could have used a lo pro edge for the Premium UV, but despite of that, I like it a lot.

I just fell in love with the Tosin Abasi signature model! It's so different and fresh. And the J Custom eight's... Pure win! Way to go Ibanez!

And as always, Rich didn't let us down with he's great pics and NAMM report

Damn.

Yeah, I got kinda buried in work after the end of show festivities - thought I was just going to do 20 minutes of photo editing and before I knew it it was 9pm. Weird. Are you around tomorrow night? Got the work party for a few hours after the show closes and then the night is young.

Specs:
Mahogany body
Maple top
5-piece maple/bubinga neck with dual truss rods and rosewood fretboard.
It has Lace Deathbar humbuckers (with coil splits):
Itís 27″ scale
Tuned (low to high) C#, F#, B, E, A, D, G, B, E

As for the pickups, here's what I meant about the tiny fraction that houses the coils. This is not a disassembled pickup: this is the whole thing.

Wow, check that out.

I'm out of here early unfortunately!

28" scale, how is that one of the few things I remember and you remember everything else?!

Does anyone know if or where the new catalog for North America is available for download?

Re: IBANEZ 2013 (who has the inside scoop)

Thx Rich and Petie for the coverage. Its been a while si nce I got genuinely excited about new guitars. Definitely some axes to consider in the new line up.

That Deathbar pickup looks like...something innovative. Not a word associated too often with guitar builders these days .

so it is a lace alumitone. I had a dethbucker in my n2 and switched it out for a crunch lab. I still have a regular alumi-tone in the neck. They are extremly clear and have an almost HI-FI feel but they dont distort very well and i like a fatter more full sound.

I can certainly see why they chose them for the 9 string pickup though. They are very light as well and yeah there isn't really anything to them.
