The only thing I found out from Ibanez was that Steve's new guitar is light green. What does that mean..idk...light neon green? Seafoam green with sustainer? Glow in the dark? It could be anything ...

True! The S series deserves the Genesis treatment I think. It took forever to get the USA a version of the RG570 - and then they only offered it in black and jewel blue.
All S's now are 24 fret though so any Genesis I guess would also be as well.
I simply hope they keep the Genesis line going. They only added the two colors of the RG550DX last year and that's it. I'm guessing the RG550's that originally came out are still selling well as I see them all over the internet in peoples' hands.

Dan from Ibanez Germany mentioned in this video, that Sugi will work as Custom Shop now and you'll be able order a custom RG:

I would like to see an 8-string with a Lo-Pro Edge 8 bridge come out of this program. I really would.

Totally on board with this.

If they don’t at least offer 7-string versions, I’ll be pretty bummed, and I haven’t heard any specific discussion (or seen examples) of anything other than 6’s.

But dang... he said $6k - $7k... and I’ll assume that’s for a 6-string model. That’s a bit rich for my blood given I’m not a fan of the ToL. But, perhaps if this program does well, they’ll eventually expand it to offer more options.

In general, I’m pretty excited about this even if I can’t participate. I can’t wait to see some of the customs that come out of this.

Rich (if you’re reading this), will you be offering this to customers?

Re: Ibanez 2020 Catalog + NAMM

I am curious why a custom shop offering is a good idea now as opposed to any other particular point in time? Perhaps an official announcement will shed some light on the matter and I should just wait for that.

If there's someone's brain you'd wanna pick this time of year, it's Rich's...

But isn't guessing the whole fun of this thread?

Actually, it was to have a slightly broader conversation about Ibanez and NAMM since Ibanez releases its catalog on the 1st of the year now. Guessing is fun, but I feel like we are guessing into a vacuum, which can lose its appeal. The appeal will surely return if something really cool shows up!
