if i were to re-fret my guitar what frets should i buy? I'd like to keep a set standby in case eBay sellers stop sending to Asia someday. (most have already). i know fret wear depends on playing style. but roughly how long will a set last? I've played mine for almost 4 years now and i can see slight curves spanning 5th to 15th frets. i do bend a lot. and some slight grooves 1-4 frets. (1st to 4th )

Rusty strings are the main cause of fret wear for me.

You can usually have 2 or 3 fret dresses before they need replacing. If and when they do need replacing go for stainless steel ones !

thanks faekildare. yes. but i have that covered i think. like, i use elixir nano-webs and use ghs fast fret to clean strings before and after i play. i change strings twice a month. and i wash hands and use hand sanitizer before and after i play, call me paranoid but im really careful when it comes to rusty strings wearing down frets. at least i try to be, there's a guy who has a 15 year or older carvin guitar and its frets are like brand new. he uses nano-webs once a month supposedly and they look very new as well before he changes them. i guess his sweat is a lot less acidic than a average person

any brand in particular who makes stainless steel? dunlop?

I know I'm a little late, but Suhr, Carvin, and others use Jescar stainless (and nickel) fretwire.
