Ibanez AT 300

Hey folks,

I own an used Ibanez AT 300 which was build from 2004 till 2007, as far as I know.

But on mine, the serial starts with F02... how can it be? According to the serial identification, its buildtime is 2002. Is it a prototype?

Re: Ibanez AT 300

Not a prototype but a neck stamped in late 2002 would not be unusual for a new "2004" model taking 6+ months to get to the US.

Re: Ibanez AT 300

But you've seen the neck on the AT300 including the Inlays? Doesn't look like a standard neck imo..And because even it's a signature..

Your best bet (besides heeding our mod's response, which I think is correct) is to contact Ibanez directly with your question.

Not sure what you mean by the last post, as all the AT300 models had those inlays.

Re: Ibanez AT 300

I believe there were some early AT300 prototypes that did not have the fancy inlays. There were some vids of Timmons playing them. The story was that the AT300 originally evolved from the SA series. There is a striking resemblance between the AT300 and the Prestige SA1260: HSS pickups, violin sunburst finish, and more. They differ in the trems, pickups, inlays, input jack location, and some other features.

Anyway, if your guitar doesn't have the ornate inlays, you might want to compare it to the old vids of AT's prototypes (if those vids are still out there) and also to the SA1260.
