Which ibanez bridge?

Hi, this is my first post, so hello!!!

i'm after some advice from some people in the know.

i am currently constructing a guitar, i bought the body from ****, and its not an official ibanez body, but its kind of a copy of an ibanez voyager, with a few differences.

when i got it, it was painted silver, but i have sanded all the paint away, back to the natuaral mahogany wood.

it looks quite smart!

now, apparently it is routed for a "Floyd Rose Pro" bridge and an RG Neck.

now, i need to get a bridge for it, and i was thinking of using an ibanez one.

ideally, i would like to use the two holes for the bridge posts that are already there, but i can adjust the body to fit a bidge if required.

i have done a bit research, as to which bridge to use, but i dont really know which ones are better than others etc.

so which of the following bridges are worth going for?

Lo Pro Edge
Edge Pro
Edge 2
Edge 3

I'm aware the TRS style are to be avoided.

is that it? or is there more?

Thanks guys

Re: Which ibanez bridge?

well Go for the Edge Lo-pro, Edge, or The Edge Pro. Between those three it's mostly prefrence. But more people like the Edge and Lo-pro then the Edge pro. Also your going to have to go on evilbay or something to find a edge or lo-pro as they are discontinued...If you can't find them go with the Edge Pro.

Although Edges are getting tougher to get Lo Pros and parts will be available new for many years to come.

I think that Rich may have some Edges or Lo Pro Edges for sale on his website. If you're looking for a quality trem, then go for either an Edge Pro (with locking stud mod) a Lo Pro Edge, or an OFR.

Re: Which ibanez bridge?

Will a Lo Pro or Edge fit in an OFR trem slot, or is it the Edge Pro that uses the OFR slot? I forget which, but my point is that I do not think an Edge Pro will work without some routing or something to get it in there.

Re: Which ibanez bridge?

Thanks for your replies guys, that was pretty much what i was thinking.

i prefer the look of the edge pro, and ive had a look on american **** (i'm in the UK, but there is hardly any on UK ****)

the only other thing is that i want it in black, and some of the bridges seem quite hard to find in black, especially the pro, most are the cosmo black colour, which, although its a nice colour, i dont think it will match the natural wood colour of the mahogany body as well as black would.

thanks again, i'll have a look and see what i can find.

Re: Which ibanez bridge?

No an edge will not directly fit into an OFR slot. Sadly. Otherwise all my guitars would have the edge installed. Joshua
