I've never owned an Edge Pro, but I believe like the Edge and Lo-Pro, the removable knife edges are hardened. Which achieves the same result as the one-piece hardened base plate of an OFR.

No they are not hardened steel, they are as Bildi said. Hardened steel knife edges, but that's about it.

There is another important advantage of the 1 piece hardened baseplate - The threads for the intonation screws do not strip. Ibanez uses a separate piece for those threads on the old Edge and Lo Pros, and I've never had those strip either. But Schaller, etc? Fahgettaboudit, I've never had one NOT have the threads strip.

Only the knife edges are hardened, but they are a great design I prefer all the Ibanez bridges over the OFR, Edge, Lo Pro, Edge Pro... You have to keep bushings on the arm if you don't want it swivel freely, other than that they are the perfect trem.
