Re: Ibanez Genesis collection - the best thing ever

I can tell you all now that they are only available in Japan for now. I know this because I spoke to Hoshino today. There are currently no plans to go outside of Asia at the moment. Whether they do in the future is anyone's guess. At least for 2013 they will not be in the USA, Australia, Europe or elsewhere.

You getting any of the chameleon 550s or 570s?

Holy awesome colours, Batman!

Nice to see Ibanez going back to what made the company awesome, even if it is a limited, Japan only run. Can't get enough of that RFR; the flip-flop is great too.

The 670 is a somewhat unusual but very nice choice, imo, to have an ash and mahogany bodied RG as a counterpoint to the basswood ones.

I also agree with post #7 that reissuing some of the other old guitars in a series like these RGs would be a big hit, like the Radius and Power models.

EDIT:

I decided to not get the Chameleon. I need to get my 560 and 550 into the condition I want them in so yeah I'm gonna give up on this one. A real 93 550 is better anyway

^^ That's too bad .

An old one has that broken in feel that just kicks arse, though I think with these new ones, a multi-piece neck for a profile that's as skinny as Wizard is a good idea.

Well the new ones take the best of the old and the new and put them into one axe, which I like alot, but it's more of a money thing. I dont have unlimited funds to do this and do pup changes and such on my 550 and 560. Those old school guitars need loving

Me too, too bad the call is all we'll get.....

Hopefully whatever Rich had teased us about for 2014 will be as good or better.

The RG550/ RG570 will be available in other Asian countries as well but unclear if they are part of the Genesis series as well.

That's good. I'm hoping next year in March or so there is still one around and I just might go for it. I'll have all my other expenses taken care of so I'll be able to afford it. Kinda looking at Desert Yellow, VC, or RFR. I dunno if Yellow would work for me, but it's something different. Not sure though since it'll be after NAMM and NAMM will bring me lots of good news I hope.

I'm not in Japan. But I got mine. :-) If it's featured in the Ibanez page of your country, chances are, you can look forward to them coming your way.

He was banned for sending people PMs trying to get them to buy guitars. That's against forum rules.
