Ibanez ID puzzle....

Ok, haven't seen it, all based on verbal description. Jewel Blue, with old grey fuzz "prestiget deluxe case". Alleged ORGINIAL edge trem, with HSH setup with V1, S1, V2 pickups. Here's the tough part: has a bound sharktooth neck that he alleges is a wizard profile. Initial thinking was an RG770 standard, but all those had matching headstocks, right, so it should be blue, right? He claims it's an RG570. What to do? Forgot to mention, the neck has square bolt not AANJ

Re: Ibanez ID puzzle....

Could be a RG570LTD that was sold in some markets and had the bound sharktooth neck. Anyway sounds like a cool guitar, but I am somehow biased towards original Edge square heel Ibbies...

Yeah looks that way. The neck says WALJR T24, which I think is a RG750 neck. The body says RG570 on it though. Never seen one, body is pretty chipped up, might have to restore this bad boy...

Re: Ibanez ID puzzle....

I'd imagine you have a neck swap on your hands to be honest. The RG570LTD I recall came with an AANJ and the ones I've seen all had matched headstocks too. You didn't say what colour headstock this one has though?

If it's a square neck heel from years ago, you have to remember that it's had around 20 years to find new parts.

Yeah it is the square heel, and the Black headstock, aka non-matching color which negated my first intuition of a RG770. Also the pickups are wrong, the older 770s had the IBZUSA's right? Maybe a neck swap. But man, this neck fits this body puuurrrrfectly. Ya know? like the binding is perfectly straight with the body.

Yeap these are interchangable... This is my refinished RG550 body with a WALJR T24 neck.
