despite the SOL in its name, that RGT2020 has the same basic polyurethane finish on the neck as every other MIJ RG/RGT, you can see the difference in the final 2mm where the body wings meet the neck. And yes, they are all smooth, but those necks aren't oiled. The key is not in what
finish is used (oil, poly, nitro) but how
that finish is used (hand finishing etc.)
How glossy or how matte the finish looks and feels differs from year to year and model to model.
Typically the RGT3020/320 with flame/quilt tops have their body colour fade onto the neck (see 2nd atachment),
with a more glossy and thick looking finish, while the "unfished" looking RTG2020/220 (mahogany or ash) have a matte looking finish.
But despite the different look of these finishes they can feel as smooth.
The latest RGT320Z guitars had full body coloured necks (1st attachment), but AFAIK
the gloss doesn't feel the same as the body paint,
as it will still benefit from the same hand finishing steps every prestige neck gets.
But they are all polyurethane. It wouldn't suprise me if the SOL body finishes were polyurethane as well.
SOL is just a name, it doesn't mean they actually used a special oil.
The body on the 2020 is also more glossy than the MOL (matte oil) finish used on the MMM1MOL.
The same finish on the RGT2020/220 in Ash was called NTF (Natural Flat)
