Talking Ibanez PGM100 JB Paul Gilbert

Hi I bought a 91 PGM100JB, 500€ (like 700 USD maybe).
The last owner painted the pickups in black
Very nice guitar, the PAF Pro are powerfull enough to play trash metal, the middle JEM is cool for rock rythms.
Maybe I can now enter the signature models ibanez crew
Here are the pics:

Very nice gutar dude! I say change the pickups. Take the paint off of these ones and sell them. Then I would replace them with something of a higher output. Maybe a Breed, Evolution, or X2N? Thats what Id do anyways, really give it that "crunch"! Lovely guitar though, and sweet deal.

I thought you hated trems? A change of heart in your old age?

True, but there is always room for manovure, especially in a PGM100! lol, its true though, the more I play the more I go off of trems! Its just a shame fixed-bridge RG's are a little thin.

That guitar looks sooo much better with the original pink pickups!

........ It was my first Ibanez too... so watch out it can get addictive!

I think in 91 the single coil was not a Jem but either an FS1 or FS2... not too much different though.

Stick with the PAF Pros...... or maybe a Tone zone!!

Re: Ibanez PGM100 JB Paul Gilbert

Cool guitar! You could even make it more current, and put a Humbucker from Hell in the neck, and a Tone Zone in the bridge! If the middle pup isn't humbucking, I might suggest sticking an HS-2, or a Virtual Vintage in there. Of course, you could also just leave it as is! I do love the PAF Pros, though.
